International Women's Day for the Professional Beauty Industry

When keynoting I often talk about money - it comes with the territory of understanding the importance of revenue and retention in the professional hair and beauty industry. When this topic is mentioned however, more often than not, you can see (and feel) a physical shift in the room in the form of distant eyes, furrowed brows or slumped shoulders.

As an industry that employs 98% of women, it's a passion of mine to be able to shift that narrative by sharing the tangibility of what revenue protection looks like, and how one can do exactly that by taking small steps as simple as switching on booking deposits, charging cancellation fees or setting up recurring appointments.

Software keynotes don't have to be dry, and contrary to what the SaaS industry see's as the norm, they don't have to be product demo's.

In fact, when I share stories about features like deposits or surcharges increasing revenue and profitability, it becomes empowering, inspiring and motivating for those in the room to take charge of their business, and set themselves up for success.

Thank you to Ama and Venna of Lashfix for trusting me with your audience, and especially for holding space for these conversations on International Women's day last month.
